"Driftwood Dreams is a great house on Lummi Island, very close to the ferry terminal. The house was well appointed, great appliances and kitchen, and a really nice deck with an amazing view. Very clean and comfortable rooms with great views. Communication was a breeze and the check-in/out process a breeze."

THE PROPERTY
INDOOR LIVING:
BEDROOMS (3) / BATHROOMS (2): Sky View Master Bedroom: on second floor, luxurious king sized bed with smartlife mattress by King Koil (select your firmness level and enjoy relaxation features), wall of tall windows, clothes closet, built in drawers, sliding glass door for access to the upper deck. Upstairs Bathroom: shared by the Sky View master and the Beachy-Keen Master - large sink with ample counter space, spacious, glass walled, custom-tiled shower with two shower heads. Beachy-Keen Master: on second floor, king sized bed, double door clothes closet, built in drawers, large solid wood desk - a great spot to work if work-from-home is needed! Sea Glass Bedroom: on the main floor, queen sized bed, closet, built in dresser drawers. *Main Bathroom: on the main floor, bright and beautifully updated - large sink with counter space, shower/bath combo is great for bubble baths after a long day on the beach.
KITCHEN: Driftwood Dream's kitchen is sure to please all levels of culinary expertise! Well stocked, open concept, stainless steel appliances, 5 burner gas range, variety of pots and pans, ample dishware, and expansive coffee station.
Note: The Islander Store is not huge so you may want to plan your meals ahead and do some grocery shopping in Bellingham before your arrival. This provides a fun opportunity to meal plan some favorites or try some new, tantalizing North West recipes - seafood linguine, a wedge salad, and a local white wine anyone? Dining-in or carrying-out from The Beach store Cafe is a fabulous option (Wednesday-Sundays 4-9pm). Consider inviting in a local chef to prepare a meal to remember while you soak in the view from the deck (Bellingham options).
OUTDOOR LIVING:
MAIN LEVEL DECK: Just off the living room, comfortable overstuffed seating, hammock swing, dining table seats 6. A great spot to look beyond the tall evergreens, watch boats motor by, and enjoy the view of Mt. Baker!
UPPER LEVEL DECK: Just off the Sky View master, grab a good book (the library on the island has shelves full) and a cozy blanket. Relax on the outdoor beanbag-style chair, or enjoy an appetizer and a drink at chairs & side table for two as you watch the seabirds soar by.
LARGE GRASSY AREA: Perfect for a rousing game of corn hole, a picnic in the sun, or some cartwheels!
OUT & ABOUT ON LUMMI ISLAND
BAKER PRESERVE: On the southern end of Lummi Island is the entrance (about 2 miles from the house) to a beautiful nature preserve. The preserve features a hiking trail that climbs steeply up Lummi Mountain for 1.6 miles. Starts out steep but gets easier. The highlight is arriving at the top - an overlook with a view west towards the San Juan Islands and the breathtaking Olympic Mountains. The preserve is a wonderful place to really stretch your legs and see the beauty of Washington's native flora and fauna. Sign in required at the head of the trail.
BEACHES: Lummi Island Beach (access is between Driftwood Dreams and the ferry dock (next to the dock)) is a county park with an observation deck - great spot to watch the ferry come and go. Visit during low tide and explore the tide pools. Church Beach (access behind Lummi Island Congregational Church) offers fun variety and has a stone labyrinth you can wander through! Sunset Beach (access from West Shore Drive on the NW side of the island) is a great beach for beachcombing, watching giant container ships with their tiny tugboats, swimming in the heat of the summer, and watching the sunset.
ARTISAN WINE SHOP: Visit this adorably quaint wine shop to do a tasting (Fridays and Saturday) and choose a Washington State wine (or a wine from around the world) that will pair well with your next meal.
VARIETY OF ART GALERIES: Cruise the island and look for signs...there are happy little gems around every corner. Take home a Lummi Island souvenir and support a local artist - win-win!
MASSAGE THERAPY: There are a number of practicing Massage Therapists on the island so, if you're not feeling relaxed enough yet, be sure and book your special session today!
OFF ISLAND ADVENTURES
There are endless opportunities to discover just off Lummi Island - Bellingham is just 30 minutes away for a greater variety of restaurants, a brewery crawl, or a stage performance. Just south of Bellingham is Fairhaven, an adorable historical waterfront town with a good variety of artist shops and is very walk able. For greater adventure, consider getting out on the water - boating, kayaking, fishing or crabbing.

This place made for the most wonderful restful island retreat. The easterly views of Mt Baker and surroundings were gorgeous, and watching the whitecaps on the ocean out the spectacular front windows made for good meditative reflection. The rooms were spotless and cozy, the kitchen had everything I needed for some fun cooking. The host is thoughtful, easy and clear in communications. I walked to the cafe one afternoon, and there were good local events on Lummi the weekend I was there, I look forward to going back!

This was an amazing house! Great kitchen for cooking and a deck to enjoy the great food. Coffee maker selection didn't disappoint. Everything in the home made us fee comfortable and relaxed. The pictures were accurate and what you see is what you get. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy!
-Tarra P.
The house is beyond imagination, the view, the location and layout.
The house is very well furnished and you will find all the appliances you would need for a family vacation. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful house and very well maintained.
We stayed during the winter time and it was very windy and somewhat cold.
Yet even with that, it was still a wonderful experience.
-Suheil J.
Driftwood Dreams was a perfect escape from the bustle of everyday life. With a very well-stocked kitchen, beautiful deck spaces, and unbeatable views including many herons feeding on the shore, it was perfect. Even on a hot day, the house stayed cool and comfortable, and we enjoyed walking to the farm stand less than a mile up the road. The interior of the house has been updated beautifully and tastefully. Would love to have stayed longer!
-Jennifer W.
The house was wonderful! Great indoor and outdoor spaces and the views of the water are amazing. I’m looking forward to staying here again.

We were 3 couples and a kid, booked the property for 3 days. The property is equipped with anything and everything you would need for a wonderful stay! Extra towels, pillows, blankets and high quality kitchen appliances everything deserves
a big thumbs up!!!
The view is amazing and the décor is dreamy!!!
Will come back for sure!

Honestly, I don’t want to tell people how great this place is because I want to book it over and over again. But this secret gem will come out. The house is meticulously appointed. It’s absolutely stunning inside from the furnishings to the quality of the appliances in the kitchen. It’s the kind of house you dream of owning. The view could not be better. You have a stunning view of Mount Baker and the other islands. I felt so much peace here. If you’re worried about there not being enough to do, you’ve actually selected the right place. The island allows you to be really present with your family and slow down in ways you didn’t even know you needed. The locals are very kind and the beaches are so much fun. There are two restaurants on the island and I highly recommend visiting them both. I cannot wait to go back. You won’t find a better place. Owners are on top of everything.

My wife, her sister and brother in law, and I stayed this week and had a great time. Very relaxing, everything that you will need. Molly was there from the beginning to the end of the stay. Great job communicating!

We spent four days at this gorgeous gem of a home on a gorgeous gem of an island. Every morning, the rising sun woke us up and we'd get out to the back porch early to have tea and coffee and watch the two otter families play in the water directly in front of the house. It was magical. The home itself was lovely. The kitchen was great - easy to use and well equipped, the beds were comfy as was the patio furniture, where we spent most of our time. We'd go back in a heartbeat. I would be forewarned that if you want an activity packed getaway, Lummi is quiet and set up for quiet, which suited us. We went on great walks and hikes, then rallied to do a sunset kayak out of Bellingham (Moondance Sea Kayak was excellent). We also booked a whale watching tour that picked us up on Sunset beach which was also just great. Molly was a communicative host and made it easy to be there.
